Adult Jewish Learning
Jewish education at Temple Beth Israel does not end with religious school. The Adult Jewish Learning Committee provides many opportunities for our congregants to expand their Jewish knowledge. Our program is multifaceted. The Adult Jewish Learning Committee also sponsors field trips, holiday workshops, and a scholar in residence program. Even more is in the works as our program continues to expand. There is something for everyone with Adult Jewish Learning at Temple Beth Israel, including our 18-week Introduction to Judaism course and the iEngage program about Israel! NJOP (National Jewish Outreach Program)
Those lucky enough to take the NJOP Hebrew Reading Crash Course 1, taught by our own Dina Lane, just graduated! It is a marvelous way to learn Prayerbook Hebrew and we all are excited to go further in our learning. So, there are three openings for the Level 2 course. It will be Sundays and Thursdays from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. starting Sunday, June 28, and continuing for five weeks.We are thrilled to announce that our own Simon Saul will teach the Level 1 course. The class will start on Tuesday, August 11 from 10 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. and continue at that time every Tuesday and Thursday for five weeks.
