There are four months left before the end of our fiscal year and we have quite a bit of fundraising left to do. Our biennial auction and dinner will be held May 21, and we are working very hard to make it a great event for all of you. And, on June 26, we will hold our Second Annual Route 66 East Valley Car Show, which is shaping up to be even better than last year.
Another really important fundraiser that is ongoing throughout the year is our Scrip Program. The purpose of Scrip is to raise money for TBI while you shop for things you need and will purchase anyway. Scrip is different than all the other fundraisers you are used to because it is designed to fit in to your everyday lifestyle. By simply using a scrip card to pay for your purchases, Temple Beth Israel benefits no matter how big or small the bill. It is the easiest possible way for you to make a contribution and support TBI.
I am not asking you to forego your credit card points or to change your entire lifestyle to use scrip. I am simply asking you to choose one or two vendors that you will use scrip for and allow TBI to benefit from your purchases. For example, many of you visit Starbucks on a regular basis. Did you know that we keep Starbucks Scrip cards in the office all the time? Perhaps you buy groceries at Stater Bros., Vons, or Sprouts. We keep cards for those stores on hand as well. There are hundreds of vendors to choose from and all you have to do is use the form in the Kehillah or contact Alisa in the Temple Office to place an order. You simply buy the Scrip card from TBI and then use it to pay for your purchase at the store.
It is all of our responsibility to make sure TBI is fully funded, and this is one of the easiest ways to make that happen. The next time you buy a cup of coffee or purchase a gift for someone, please remember that by using scrip, you will be supporting TBI at the same time.
